About Me

Let me introduce myself – My name is Seb Jones, Some of my earliest memories of golf come from attending ‘Junior Camp Days’ at my home club. As a junior, I was fortunate to receive regular coaching from some of the country’s top PGA Professionals. I competed frequently in junior events all over the country and represented the county alongside my peers, whilst being part of the men’s scratch team – reaching a handicap of 5 at age 13, improving thereafter. By my mid-to-late teens, my competitive ambitions started to fade. However, after finishing secondary school, I was encouraged to study golf at a sports college. During this time, I gained my first experience in the golf industry working part-time at a busy driving range. Soon after, I joined the team at Royal Ascot Golf Club. The friendly, sociable atmosphere helped me reconnect with the game, this time from a more social and recreational perspective. Over time, I decided to start my PGA training. Currently, I manage the pro shop two days a week, with any remaining time dedicated to coaching. My coaching style is forever evolving; I’m obsessed with expanding my knowledge. I place strong attention on sound fundamentals – particularly in set-up and pre-swing principles. I believe this approach targets the root cause of destructive shots. I’m also heavily involved in our thriving junior section – for junior golfers’ top priority is enjoyment! For those showing ambition, I place a strong emphasis on athleticism, powerful movement, and a sharp short game. Now nearing full qualification, Recent PGA events have reignited my competitive edge, and I’m keen to keep developing as both a coach and player. I look forward to seeing you around the club – whether it’s for a lesson, some advice, or just a friendly chat in the shop!
